Javier Muñoz will return to Broadway’s Hamilton March 21. The actor—the first official replacement for the title role in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony and Pulitzer-winning musical—went on temporary medical leave in February following a physical injury.
Standby and alternate Jevon McFerrin had stepped into the role at the Richard Rodgers Theatre during the lead’s departure. In addition to Hamilton, Muñoz appeared on Broadway in In the Heights, understudying Miranda and again going on to replace him.
