Happy Valley star James Norton and Imogen Poots, fresh off her run in the acclaimed West End revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? opposite Imelda Staunton, will co-star as a young American couple whose idyllic Parisian life is shattered over the course of a tension-filled afternoon, in the Donmar Warehouse production of Amy Herzog’s Belleville.
Faith Alabi (The Rolling Stone) and Malachi Kirby (Rough Cuts) join them in the play’s U.K. premiere, which will be directed by Michael Longhurst (Constellations, Amadeus).
Belleville will begin previews December 7 ahead of a December 14 opening night. Performances are scheduled through February 3, 2018. The show had a run in 2013 at NYC's New York Theatre workshop.
Herzog garnered acclaim for her 2011 play 4000 Miles, which played an extended run Off-Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater. Her plays also include After the Revolution, The Great God Pan, and Mary Jane, which recently concluded its Off-Broadway run at New York Theatre Workshop.
Next year, Carnegie Hall's house band will perform Bernstein’s “Kaddish” Symphony, unfinished works by Schubert, and the final concert of Conductor Bernard Labadie.
