The new Off-Broadway production of Tennessee Williams’ 1978 play A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur officially opened September 23 at the Theatre at St. Clement’s. The play centers on four women in Depression-era St. Louis who live and work together in a valiant effort to stave off loneliness and despair.
The production, directed by Austin Pendleton, stars Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen (Present Laughter), Golden Globe nominee Annette O’Toole (Smallville), Jean Lichty (The Traveling Lady), and Polly McKie (The Home Place, A Day by the Sea).
The creative team includes Harry Feiner (set and lighting designer), Beth Goldenberg (costume designer), Leah Loukas (wig and hair designer), Carrie Mossman (prop designer), Amy Stoller (dialect designer and dramaturg), Ron Piretti (fight director), Stephanie Klapper (casting director), Gary Levinson (production manager), Marci Skolnik (production stage manager), and Lisa Dozier King (general manager).
