Houston's Alley Theatre, which was severely impacted when Hurricane Harvey made landfall August 25, has canceled all remaining performances of Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps. The production had been extended to run through September 3.
Alley's Neuhaus Theatre, Mitchell Lobby, and basement dressing rooms suffered the most damage from the ongoing storm. The Hubbard Theatre and the Long Lobby currently remain intact without any damage. All electricity, email servers, and phone lines remain offline.
Patrons may exchange their existing tickets for a future Hubbard Theatre production at no additional charge, request a refund, or donate the value of the tickets to the theatre. Email [email protected]; the Box Office staff will return the message when the theatre returns to normal operations. Both the offices and box office are currently closed because there is no electricity.
Artistic Director Gregory Boyd and Managing Director Dean Gladden will release further information about the season at a later date.
The Alley Theatres' thoughts, according to a statement, “are with all Houstonians during this difficult time.”
