The Broadway premiere of Hillary and Clinton wraps up performances at the John Golden Theatre June 23. The new comedy, penned by Tony-nominated playwright Lucas Hnath (A Doll’s House, Part 2) and directed by Tony winner Joe Mantello, opened on Broadway April 18 starring Tony and Emmy winner Laurie Metcalf as Hillary, alongside fellow Tony and Emmy winner John Lithgow as Bill.
In Hillary and Clinton, the politics of marriage, gender roles, and the limitations of experience are examined. Rounding out the Broadway cast are Zak Orth as campaign manager Mark and Peter Francis James as Barack.
A Scott Rudin production, Hillary and Clinton features scenic design by Chloe Lamford, costume design by Rita Ryack, lighting design by Hugh Vanstone, and sound design by Leon Rothenberg. Casting is by Caparelliotis Casting; David L. Arsenault is associate scenic designer.
Hillary and Clinton premiered at Chicago's Victory Gardens Theater in 2016 before heading to Philadelphia, Richmond, and Dallas.
