Fans of the new Broadway musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 are being offered a singular chance to be a permanent part of the original Broadway cast album, whose recording is underway this week.
The producers are looking for fans to join creator Dave Malloy and members of the cast to sing group chorus sections and to play the show’s distinctive egg shakers for the recording. This special fan recording session will take place in midtown Manhattan on February 13 from 6–7:30 PM ET. You do not have to buy a ticket to the show in order to take part in the recording session.

No date for the release of the cast album was announced.
Producers also announced that Malloy will make his Broadway performing debut in the show this spring, replacing Josh Groban in the role of Pierre for 10 performances on selected dates in May and June. Malloy originated the role of Pierre in the show’s initial Off-Broadway runs at Ars Nova and Kazino. He will play Pierre at the following performances: May 4 at 7 PM; May 5 at 8 PM; May 6 at 2 and 8 PM; May 7 at 3 PM; May 9 at 7 PM; May 16 at 7 PM; June 13 at 7 PM; June 20 at 7 PM; and June 27 at 7 PM.
