LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater has announced that it will open its 2016-17 season with the world premiere of The Harvest by Samuel D. Hunter, directed by Davis McCallum. The new production will feature Spring Awakening's Gideon Glick, who starred in the Broadway-bound Significant Other.
Glick will be joined by a cast that includes Scott Jaeck, Leah Karpel, Madeleine Martin, Peter Mark Kendall, Christopher Sears and Zoë Winters. Performances are set to begin October 8 and run through November 20 at the Claire Tow Theater. Opening night is scheduled for October 24.
The Harvest was commissioned by LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater’s programming initiative dedicated to producing new works. The play follows a group of young missionaries in Southeastern Idaho who are preparing to go to the Middle East. Among them is a young man with a one-way ticket, played by Kendall, whose plans are derailed with the arrival of his estranged sister, played by Karpel.
The production will feature sets by Dane Laffrey, costumes by Jessica Pabst, lighting by Eric Southern and sound by Leah Gelpe.
Hunter's plays include The Whale, A Bright New Boise, The Few, A Great Wilderness, Rest and Pocatello, among others.
