Casting is complete for Reprise 2.0’s Sweet Charity, the first production in its inaugural season. As previously reported, the Los Angeles staging, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, will star Legally Blonde Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy in the title role, Barrett Foa as Oscar, and Miss Saigon alum Jon Jon Briones as Herman.
Joining the three are Terron Brooks (The Lion King) as Daddy Brubeck, Krystal Joy Brown (Big Fish) as Helene, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer (Grease: Live) as Nickie, Ashley Loren (Jekyll & Hyde) as Ursula, and Robert Mammana (Les Misérables) as Vittorio.
The ensemble will feature Ari Aaron, Justin Badding, Claudia Baffo, Gillian Bozaijan, Victor Chan, Catriona Fray, Bella Hicks, Lucia Joyce, Jeffrey Landman, Ashley Matthews, Grayson McGuire, Amber Mercomes, Angeline Mirenda, Chuck Saculla, Evan Strand, and Louis Williams.
Performances will run June 20 through July 1 at UCLA’s Freud Playhouse.
The production will feature music direction by Gerald Sternbach, sets by Stephan Gifford, costumes by Angela Calin, lighting design by Jared A. Sayeg, and sound design by Jonathan Burke.
Reprise 2.0, a reboot of L.A.’s popular Reprise series offering new presentations of classic musicals, will also present Victor/Victoria (starring Tony nominee Carmen Cusack) September 5–16 and Grand Hotel October 24–November 4.
