The successful American Jewish Theatre revival of the Marx Brothers musical The Cocoanuts is transferring to a regular, open-ended Off-Broadway run at the American Place Theatre in New York July 27. The production, directed by Richard Sabellico, revives not only the personae of the four Marxes, but the original Irving Berlin score, most of which was eliminated when the memorable 1929 film was made. The Berlin standard "Always," which was cut from the original score, has been restored for this production.
Tickets cost $45 and $47.50. For information or tickets: (212) 239-6200.
