Musicals Tonight will present a limited run of the musical The Apple Tree October 3–15 at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row Studios.
Directed and choreographed by Ray Roderick, the cast will include Savannah Frazier as Eve, Garen McRoberts as Adam, and Matthew LaBanca as the Snake with Marc De La Concha, Elizabeth Flanagan, Alia Hodge, Colin Minamoto, and Wesley Tunison.
Jim Stenborg is the music director/vocal arranger.
Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick's The Apple Tree offers musical takes on three distinct tales, each with the theme of temptation: The Diary of Adam and Eve, The Lady or the Tiger?, and Passionella.
The original production, which featured a Tony-winning performance by Barbara Harris, originally opened on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre in October 1966. Larry Blyden and Alan Alda also starred in the Mike Nichols staging, which was nominated for seven Tony Awards including Best Musical. Kristin Chenoweth, Brian d'Arcy James, and Marc Kudisch starred in a 2006 Broadway revival.
