Burn This will officially open April 16.
In Wilson’s 1987 drama, Pale (Driver), a dangerously sexy restaurant owner, falls for a dancer named Anna (Russell). Set in downtown New York in the 1980s, the story follows their troubled relationship in the wake of a shared tragedy—the death of Pale’s brother and Anna’s roommate and dance partner.
The original production of Burn This premiered Off-Broadway in 1987 starring John Malkovich as Pale and Joan Allen as Anna. The play transferred to Broadway that same year for a critically acclaimed run at the Plymouth Theatre, earning Allen a Tony Award for her performance.
The 2019 Broadway revival is produced by David Binder. The design team includes Natasha Katz (lights), Derek McLane (sets), Clint Ramos (costumes), and David Van Tieghem (sound design and original music). 101 Productions, Ltd is the General Manager, and casting is by Jim Carnahan.
