The world premiere of Taylor Mac's Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus has delayed its Broadway opening. Originally scheduled to officially debut April 11, the production will now open April 21.

The push back follows a delayed preview period, which kicked off March 11 at the Booth Theatre. Performances were scheduled to begin March 5, but after a rehearsal injury forced Andrea Martin to withdraw from the staging, the start date was moved to March 9 before a subsequent delay.

With Martin out, Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen moved from playing Carol to taking on Martin's role of Janice. Tony winner Julie White then joined the company as a late addition to play Carol. Appearing alongside them is three-time Tony winner Nathan Lane in the title role.

George C. Wolfe directs the play, a sequel to Shakespeare's tragedy that's similarly macabre but decidedly more comedic. The Scott Rudin production features sets by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Ann Roth, lighting by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, sound design by Dan Moses Schreier, movement by Bill Irwin, and original score by Danny Elfman.
