On June 10 at 8 PM in Manhattan's Bryant Park, the League of American Theatres and Producers and the tourism marketing outfit NYC & Company will present a new annual outdoor summer entertainment series, "Broadway Under the Stars."
The free event is a unique mix of film, music, dance and theatre. The evening will blend a film montage of clips take from movies shot in New York City with live performances of dance and musical theatre. A 20-piece orchestra will provide accompaniment.
No specific numbers or performers have been announced. Also unknown is the identity of "a surprise master of ceremonies from the top tier of New York City's entertainment community. "
"Broadway Under the Stars" is only the latest in a series of League sponsored event designed to promote Broadway theatre. If follows such annual happenings as "Broadway on Broadway" and "Stars in the Alley."
