Ramin Karimloo, currently playing Gleb in the Broadway musical Anastasia, is making time for two concerts July 23 and 24, at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in Manhattan.
Karimloo, who earned a Tony Award nomination for his performance as Jean Valjean in the most recent Broadway revival of Les Misérables, has played the club four times previously. The Iranian-Canadian singer, who first came to prominence playing the Phantom of the Opera in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom sequel Love Never Dies, will offer fans a blend of rock, bluegrass, country, and Broadway that he first explored in his 2012 debut album Human Heart.
“I wanted to marry the sounds of rock and country with the signature musical theatre sound that people know me for,” he said, dubbing the resulting sound “Broadgrass.” Karimloo has toured internationally with his band, Ramin Karimloo & The Broadgrass Band, and has released three solo albums on Sony Records: Human Heart, The Road to Find Out: East, and The Road to Find Out: South.
Tickets for the 8 PM concerts cost $37.50 in advance, $45 day of show, plus a $10 food/drink minimum per person. There are no reserved seats, so fans are advised to arrive early. The club is located at 237 West 42nd Street. Tickets are now on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
