Based on the screenplay by Eran Kolirin, The Band’s Visit follows the story of an Egyptian police band, who, after a mixup at the border, find themselves in a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus or hotel in sight, the band members are led into unlikely friendships with some of the locals, causing their lives to intertwine in unexpected and spectacular ways.
The show, directed by David Cromer, arrives on Broadway following an acclaimed and sold-out world premiere at Off-Broadway’s Atlantic Theater Company—with much of the original cast and creative team in tow.
The Broadway creative team includes choreographer Patrick McCollum, set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Sarah Laux, lighting designer Tyler Micoleau, sound designer Kai Harada, projection designer Maya Ciarrocchi, and hair designer Charles LaPointe. Orchestrations are by Jamshied Sharifi, Andrea Grody is co-music supervisor and music director, and Dean Sharenow is co-music supervisor. Casting by Tara Rubin Casting.
The Band’s Visit is produced by Orin Wolf, John Styles, John N. Hart Jr. and Atlantic Theater Company.
