Don Howard, an actor and stage manager who appeared on Broadway in Alone Together with Janice Paige and West Side Waltz with Katharine Hepburn, died Aug. 14 of liver disease in Manhasset, NY, Variety reported.
Mr. Howard, who was 47, also appeared in the national tour of Legends with Carol Channing and Mary Martin. West Side Waltz, in 1982, was his Broadway debut.
Among his stage management jobs were international tours of West Side Story and Deathtrap. He also directed Deathtrap, starring William Shatner, in Denver.
Mr. Howard graduated Amherst College and is author, composer and lyricist of a musical, Paul Bunyan. He also earned an MFA from Smith College, where he acted and directed.
Variety reported that Mr. Howard is survived by his mother, Martha, and the Broadway and TV actor Ken Howard. -- By Kenneth Jones
