Anne of Green Gables: Part I, a new adaptation of the classic novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, is set to begin performances Off-Broadway at The Royal Family Performing Arts Space on January 24 ahead of a January 28 opening. The movement-fueled production, adapted and directed by Chris Henry with choreography by Lorna Ventura, is scheduled to run through February 11.
The production features former Phantom of the Opera star Ali Ewoldt in the title role, and is the first part of a three-part adaptation. A workshop presentation of Anne of Green Gables: Part II will take place January 31–February 10, starring Doreen Maltavo (On Your Feet! on Broadway).
