Last night, Broadway got a heaping helping of fruit pies and fashion on the red carpet at the Brooks Atkinson with the opening night of Waitress! As actual pies were baked in the theatre sending the heady scents of butter, sugar, and flaky crust out into the night, theatregoers strutted their stuff in some deee-lish designs for the Spring 2016 season!

Jennifer Nettles was a dessert herself! Featuring a stylish mini-romper with matching blazer in what appeared to be a luscious print of red-cherries with little green stems on a black background! The black satin detailing was a classy touch in both the jacket and the leg of the romper and complimented both the envelope-clutch and the gladiator heels. The whole look was both light-hearted and sophisticated!....perfect for a lovely Spring evening!

Ahna O’Reilly was a little slice of Heaven in a lovely confection that reminded us of frosting and flowers! In whiter-than-white floral lace overlaid with even more soft coral and hot pink floral embellishments, she was on trend in about “six ways to Sunday”!! I put on five pounds just looking at her as she came down the red carpet! Hair, make-up, and the nude open-toed heels…yes! yes! yes!! Who needed pie??

Jessie Mueller was another girl who got it right on the red carpet! Fitted in a body-hugging sheath that loved every part of her curvy-girl body, the bright ‘n’ bold floral print with the peek-a-boo cut-outs was sinfully stylish! And her pulled-back ballet-bun and make-up???.... A++++

Kimiko Glenn made a charming and understated entrance in a strapless floral bustier and black leather wrap sarong-skirt. The surprise of the unexpected contrast of the two pieces was a refreshing reminder of “thinking outside of the box” in this 2016 season! Thank you, Kimiko!

Gavin Creel is loving Spring/2016 and what a sleek and sophisticated guy can style himself in this season. He’s opted again for one of those lighter-than-air silvery-grey suits with the open white shirt that are becoming his signature. Gavin doesn’t get stuck in the conservative rut of the Mad Men dark-suit & tie set…. His taste runs to the Mediterranean fashions of the Fellini film stars! Bravo!!

Celia Keenan-Bolger! Lovely! In a black-on-black ensemble of pleated gauchos, and a flowing tank/tunic with a tapering hem, she looked both ultra-classy and super-comfortable. You could see it in her mega-watt smile that matched those sunny-blond locks!

Sara Bareilles was beyond chic in her all-black tea-length with the fit ‘n’ flair silhouette. Cap sleeves kept it sweet, but that ultra-plunge neckline revealing as much as was decently possible took it right to the edge. Totally “on trend” for an evening out in NYC!...and the strappy-gladiator sandal-heels added even more to the excitement!

Keala Settle really held court in her hot pink blazer and hot-hot-shorts! This is a gal who loves fashion and is not afraid to wear it! Her upswept hair, the dangle earrings, the nude heels, and her sunny exuberance, (…oh, yes, and that peek of black lace at the bust!) showed that Keala rules!! It’s like I always say, you’re truly never fully dressed without a smile and the confidence that shines from inside! ….#andScene.
