U.K.-based educational streamer Digital Theatre+ has partnered with Broadway talent on Musical Matters, a new conversation series focused on inclusivity and representation in theatre. Hosted by Christine Toy Johnson, the five-episode program features Andréa Burns, Nikki Renée Daniels, David Henry Hwang, Lisa Kron, Jose Llana, Chita Rivera, Aneesh Sheth, Ali Stroker, Alexandria Wailes, and George C. Wolfe.
Made for high school- and college-aged students, the series is available for educators to stream via Digital Theatre+. The entire series is currently free to access for educators via a free trial that began January 12.
"It was incredible to talk with such a wide array of luminary artists, not only to hear about their experiences in musical theatre, but also their insight on how we can make it a more inclusive and meaningful place to work as storytellers of the world," says Johnson.
Founded in 2009, Digital Theatre+ provides access to online productions and other arts education resources to more than three million students at more than two thousand institutions worldwide.
