Singers: Please submit a brief song that shows your range. You may use one of the links provided below, or submit any song of your choosing. Please also submit a Shakespeare monologue in verse. The total of both the monologue and the song should be no more than 3 minutes. Please choose only one song and one monologue. Both pieces should be sent via one video link.

Non-singers: Please submit a Shakespeare monologue in verse, and a contemporary monologue of your choice. The total of both monologues should be no more than 3 minutes. Both pieces should be sent via one video link.

3. It would be helpful to tape in a quiet room with little or no background noise with the most advantageous lighting you can manage. We understand that times are challenging right now, so do the best you can.
4. The length of your entire video, including slate, should be no more than 3 minutes.

Adolfo Pirelli: Legit tenor B2-C5. Aged 30 to 45. A flamboyant Italian rival barber;
a charlatan/showman.
Beadle Bamford: Tenor or Baritone w/power falsetto D3-D5. Aged 40 to 55. A pompous toady; oily, sycophantic public official.
Tobias Ragg: Tenor Bb2-Ab4. Aged 18-30. A simple-minded soul; the innocent who “sees”.

Maria Rainer: Soprano. A young postulant at Nonnberg Abbey. Free-spirited, warm, kind, and determined. Acoustic guitar skills.
Captain Georg Von Trapp: Baritone. A retired Austrian naval captain. Polished and precise on the surface, but warm underneath his sadness. Acoustic guitar skills.
Mother Abbess: Legit soprano. Leader of the Abbey. Strong, motherly and understanding.
Max Detweiler: Baritenor. Charming and sophisticated. A loyal friend of the Von Trapp family.
Elsa Schraeder: Mezzo. A baroness of elegance and taste. Dignified.
Rolf Gruber: Low tenor. Suitor to Liesl. Telegram boy, later a Nazi soldier.
Liesl: Mezzo. The oldest Von Trapp child (16 years old). She cares deeply for her younger siblings.
Sister Sophia: Soprano. A rule follower. Neither demanding nor critical.
Sister Berthe: Alto. She’s the mistress of the Novices. A bit prudish.
Sister Margaretta: Mezzo. Mistress of the Postulants. Very kind and concerned.
Frau Schmidt: Non-singing. The stoic housekeeper. A dominating person.
Herr Zeller: Non-singing. A Nazi official. Stern and unsmiling.
Franz: Non-singing;. The Von Trapp’s butler. Rather formal. Very German and loyal to the Fascist cause.

Wiletta Mayer: 50s-60s. African-American. Sings. Has gravitas and a big personality. Though a veteran actor, she’s never been the star.
Millie Davis: 30-39. African-American. Can carry a tune. Has flare, likes expensive things, and knows how to make an entrance.
Judy Sears: 18-25. European descent. A young actor just graduated from Yale. She comes from a life of wealth and comfort in Bridgeport, CT. She takes her privilege for granted.
Al Manners: 40-59. European descent. The director. He is the epitome of Hollywood – energetic, patronizing, and well-dressed.
John Nevins: 20s. African-American. A talented, charming, and opportunistic young actor.
Henry: 70s. European descent. An electrician turned doorman who has been in the biz for over 50 years. Irish and proud of it.
Sheldon Forrester: 70s. African-American. Can carry a tune. An elderly character actor, and the only one in the cast who has actually seen a lynching.
Bill O’Wray: 50s. European descent. An experienced character actor. When he’s playing a part he’s dynamic and radiates strength and power. When he’s himself, he’s more a shadow of a man.
Eddie Fenton: 20-30. European descent. The stage manager.

CLUE

Wadsworth: a traditional British butler in every sense: uptight, formal, and “by the book.” He is the driving force in the play.
Yvette: a loyal and sexy French maid.
Miss Scarlett: a dry, sardonic Washington, DC madam, more interested in secrets than sex
Mrs. Peacock: the wealthy wife of a senator. A bit batty, neurotic, and quick to hysteria.
Mrs. White: a morbid and tragic woman. Mrs. White may or may not be the murderer of her five ex-husbands.
Colonel Mustard: a puffy, pompous, dense, blowhard of a military man.
Professor Plum: an arrogant academic; easily impressed by himself.
Mr. Green: a timid yet officious rule follower. He’s awfully anxious.

Ensemble #1 (Female-identifying):
The Cook: a gruff woman with a threatening presence
Singing Telegram Girl: a tap dancer with a heart of gold.
Auxiliary Scarlet: the back of Miss Scarlett during a scene of theatrical trickery.
Backup Cop: backup for the Chief in the very final cop entrance.

Ensemble #2 (Male-identifying):
Mr. Boddy: a slick, Frank Sinatra, film noir-esque type fella
The Motorist: a professional driver
Chief of Police: a cop who helps save the day.

Ensemble #3 (Male-identifying):
The unexpected cop: a regular Joe.
Backup Cop: backup for the Chief in the very final cop entrance.
Auxiliary Mustard: the back of Col. Mustard during a scene of theatrical trickery.
