BREAKDOWN

TWO STRANGERS (Broadway)

SEEKING:

[DOUGAL] (CAST) (English, 25-30, Male identifying, White) Tenor with strong Bb. Dougal is sunshine in human form. He is on a journey from the UK to meet his father for the first time. He finds that his dream city, New York, doesn’t offer up quite what he expected. He is unselfconscious, and can seem a little frantic and childish, but has moments of great emotional insight and wisdom. Perhaps without intending to, but by simply being open, kind and inquisitive, he unlocks a happier side of ROBIN that she has kept hidden away for some time. Great comedic skill, huge generosity of spirit and buckets of warmth. A strong tenor with a consistent Bb.

[ROBIN] (CAST) (American, 25-30, Female identifying, Black) an independent New Yorker with a seemingly chilly exterior. She is outwardly cynical but inwardly emotional. Although she sometimes has a chilly demeanor, she is never unkind. She has found herself adrift in Manhattan, and puts up a shield to protect herself, using sarcasm and wit to deflect. Amongst her friends, she is considered popular and fun. She never expects to meet someone like DOUGAL when she goes to pick him up from the airport. We see her thaw as she gets to know him, she enjoys teasing him, and he vibes off this. He brings out the best in her, and the sparkle returns to her eyes. Great comic timing and access to a glorious warmth. ROBIN is not a deflated person, nor is she mean - she's just a little guarded when we first meet her. An incredibly strong singer.
