TOURING TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Ajijaak on Turtle Island is looking for touring staff for an upcoming national tour in early 2023.

This is a non-union tour and all technicians will be asked to support all departments as needed during the load in and tech at each venue. All crew members are responsible for fellow company members’ safety.

The current schedule for 2023 is as follows:
- February 19th to March 10th – Load In, Tech in NYC and First Tour stop in Lincoln NE
- March 23rd to March 26th – Travel and tour stop in Bloomsburg PA
- April 6th to April 9th – Travel and tour stop upstate NY
- April 18th to April 22nd – Travel and tour stop in Beaver Creek CO
- April 27th to April 30th – Travel and tour stop In Fort Collins CO
Dates are subject to change.

TOURING TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

A good candidate would have a strong technical background in Scenery and Lighting and some touring experience. A great candidate has a level head and inclination for creative problem solving. Job responsibilities include:
- Advancing the show from venue to venue
- Discussing local union contracts with each venue and adjusting labor calls accordingly
- Adjusting the hang plot accordingly based on local venue conditions
- Supervising the load in with an eye for scenery, props and lighting
- Supervising the strike with oversight for lighting, sound, wardrobe, props, and scenery
- Keeping track of the truck pack, where things belong on the truck, how scenery/prop carts and puppets get loaded, and overall truck inventory
- Coordinating with our trucking vendor and truck driver to schedule when truck should be at the theater
- Coordinating local deliveries as needed
- Supporting stage management and company management with any technical needs

SALARY

$250.00 – $250.00 per day
