DESCRIPTION

General Info:
Aruba Productions is seeking an experienced Production Electrician for Fellowship for the Performing Arts (FPA) touring productions. FPA tours between 25-35 weeks per calendar year on a periodic basis: engagements are typically limited to one stop per week and are no more than 2-4 days in duration.

Training to commence January 2025.

Responsibilities:
Serve as the Lead Electrician, as well as a member of the run crew. More detailed responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Directly oversee all lighting equipment and lighting personnel for FPA tours
- Oversee local crew, whether Union (IATSE) or non-Union, in regards to lighting needs
- Implement and maintain safe operating practices and procedures, with an eye towards protection of personnel, equipment, and venue
- Work with FPA technicians to supervise load-in and load-out, with particular leadership necessary during hang and focus of lighting equipment, strike of lighting equipment, and loading and unloading the production’s 53’ truck
- Serve as a member of the performance run crew
- Oversee and perform all lighting maintenance, either on the road or at our warehouse in Brookfield, CT
- Attend production meetings as directed

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience in a theatrical environment, with focus on lighting
- 1-3 years experience supervising technical & run crews
- Working knowledge of theatrical rigging, with certification
- Experience in other theatrical areas, including carpentry, projection equipment, and sound equipment
- Ability to read ground plans, sections, and other theatrical drawings
- Ability to identify issues before they become problems
- Open, honest communication
- Full and current vaccination against COVID-19
- Positive attitude

Compensation:
- Pay is $1,300 per tour stop (up to 5 days including travel days) with additional day rates for longer engagements as required
- Per diem, travel & housing provided
