DESCRIPTION

Constellation Stage & Screen in Bloomington, IN is seeking Non-Union actors for the roles of Dorothy and Miss Gulch/Wicked Witch for our holiday production of The Wizard of Oz. Kate Galvin, Director. Tommy Bergeron, Musical Director. DJ Gray, Choreographer. This show will be produced at the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater in downtown Bloomington.

Constellation Stage & Screen is committed to an inclusive approach to casting. Actors of all types and abilities are encouraged to submit for the role with which they identify. Travel and housing are provided for non-local artists.

To submit, please email a photo, resume and a link to your website/reel, along with a short note of interest. Subject line "Wizard of Oz - ROLE". Selected actors will be asked to self-tape for the first round and callbacks will be held via Zoom.


DOROTHY – 18-20 (to read younger), female identified, any race/ethnicity, Mezzo-Soprano. Dorothy has a sweet, innocent presence, which masks a brave and loyal streak. This role may require flying.


MISS GULCH/WICKED WITCH – 30’s-50’s, female identified, any race/ethnicity, Mezzo-Soprano. Miss Gulch lives nearby the Gale family’s farm. She’s got a mean streak and friends in high places. She hates dogs and anyone who gets pleasure out of life. The Wicked Witch is on a mission to avenge her sister’s death after Dorothy kills her by accident. This role requires flying.
