SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW (See breakdown).

All ages, ethnicities, and genders / non-binary artists are encouraged to audition.

All roles will be understudied.


PREPARATION

Please prepare either a COMEDIC SHAKESPEARE monologue (90 sec) or have a quick chat/interview. We are looking forward to getting to know you! Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together. Each actor will have 1.5 minutes in the room.

TRANIO: IS LUCENTIO’S LOYAL SERVANT FORM PISA. HE HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP IN VINCENTIO’S HOUSEHOLD.

GRUMIO: IS PETRUCHIO’S SERVANT. HE LIVES IN VERONA.

GREMIO: IS AN OLD MAN WHO WANTS TO MARRY BIANCA. HE IS GOOD FRIENDS WITH BAPTISTA.

BIANCA: IS THE YOUNEST DAUGHTER OF BAPTISTA. SHE IS KNOWN IN PADUA FOR HER BEAUTY AND MILD NATURE.

HORTENSIO: WANTS TO MARRY BIANCA. HE IS GOOD FRIENDS WITH PETRUCHIO AND LIVES IN PADUA. DOUBLES AS: BIONDELLO & MERCHANT.

PETRUCIO: IS A GENTLEMAN FROM VERONA. HE IS GOOD FRIENDS WITH HORTENSIO AND IS LOOKING FOR A WIFE.

KATHERINE (OR KATE): IS THE ELDEST DAUGHTER OF BAPTISTA. SHE IS WELL KNOWN IN PADUA FOR HER WILD AND BRASH BEHAVIOR.

VINCENTIO: IS LUCENTIO’S FATHER. HE LIVES IN PISA. DOUBLES AS THE TAILOR, ENSEMBLE.
