BREAKDOWN
THE DISAPPEAR
PLEASE NOTE: unless otherwise specified, for all roles we are actively seeking and welcoming of actors of any ethnicity, race, gender/gender identification/gender expression, and physical and neurological ability.
SEEKING:
[MIRA BLAIR] Female/female identifying, 40s. A successful novelist. Self made. Independent. Unaware of the spell she casts with her natural self assurance and penetrating, unnerving, all-seeing gaze. She's like a blinding light drawn to like-minded souls.
[BENJAMIN BRAXTON] Male/male identifying, late 40s - 50s. The third of his name. Ben is a successful film director. He's intelligent, self absorbed, scathingly witty, virile, mid-life crisis, considers himself a true artist, loves film above all else, can't help himself, besotted by the beauty of life and the unfolding depths of his mind. Charming.
[MICHAEL BLOOM] Male/male identifying, 50s. A very charming and erudite, very British producer. Married and divorced twice over; now married to the job. Very successful and extremely adept at navigating the personal and the politic, but getting a bit blasé and tired of the grind.
[RAF NIGHT] Male/male identifying, late 20s – mid/late 30s. A movie star in his prime. A gorgeous lost soul, leans deep into whomever he's speaking to forgetting the room around him and all the folks who want his attention. Intoxicating. Sexy. Fun and funny. Damaged.
[DOLLY BLAIR-BRAXTON] Female/female identifying, 18+ to play 16. The very smart, quick-witted and often sarcastic, perceptive daughter of BEN and MIRA. Precocious; older than her years in many ways as the daughter of often absent artistic parents who has had to parent herself to a large degree, but still prone to the pendulous swings of teenage emotions and dramatics. A budding climate activist for whom one bad hair day could signal the end of the world. Very aware of the complications in her parents’ relationship; trying new things and behaviors on for size, in ways that might be acting out and/or just the growing pains of a bright and complicated young girl moving into adulthood.
[JULIE WELLS] Female/female identifying, 20s. An actress of modest success and deep talent. A spectacular beauty but truly odd soul, goofy and pretentious, gifted and vain, spoiled and kind. Favors cottage-core and imagines herself the heroine of every story.
