Job Details

DESCRIPTION

Seeking a technical director for a production of The Drowsy Chaperone at Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. This show will be co-produced with Short North Stage in Columbus, OH, so the set will be taken down and stored at the end of the run.

SSMT is a professional summerstock theatre on the campus of Shenandoah University. The staff is comprised of college-aged young professionals who may be working their 1st or 2nd professional contract along with artists who may have some more experience in the field.

The TD will be working directly with the design team and with the TD for the other two shows in the season to plan and supervise the build of the show. This position is expected to be hands-on during the build and willing to teach, mentor, and guide the team throughout the process. Cost breakdowns will be due mid-April with final draftings due late May.

On-site dates are June 14-July 5. The stipend is $3500 and housing in a private room/private bath university dorm room is provided, along with basic linens. In addition, a $250 travel stipend will be available to you, and SSMT can assist with rides to and from DC transportation hubs Dulles Airport and Washington Union Station. Parking on campus is free and plentiful, but many amenities are available within walking distance so a car is not required.
