The award-winning Vital Theatre Company is seeking a professional, experienced, Stage Manager for rehearsals and the production of is 1-hour family show, The Wizard of Oz (https://www.vitalswizardofoz.com). The production will rehearse and perform at Theatre Row Theatre, 410, West 42nd Street in Manhattan. The successful candidate will have all this skills and assume all the duties associated with being a stage manager, including but not limited to: working with the director to create a schedule, creating and keeping a company contact sheet, attending all rehearsals, keeping a prompt book with all blocking, choreography and music notes, calling the company via email/text/or telephone for all rehearsals and performances, communicating with the director and the Vital staff by way of daily stage manager reports, keeping notes on all aspects of the producing during rehearsals and performances, Arriving at each performance, at the contracted time, in time to direct and assist the actors to set up the stage prior to each performance, calling all times leading up to places, running the lights and sound during performances, assisting and directing the actors after the performances to strike and store the sets and props, to do show laundry in the theater washer and dryer after performances or as needed, to send out costumes that need dry-cleaning as needed.
Rehearsal begin this Monday, November 29th at 10:00 am and continue at various times each day. Tech is set for Friday, December 10th and the production opens Saturday, December 11th, 2021 at 5:00 pm. The production runs Saturdays and Sundays at 5:00 pm through March 6th.
The successful candidate may also elect to Stage Manage the next production, Kid Frankenstein, The Musical, which will open the following week at 7:00 pm and continue Saturdays and Sunday until March 6th 2022.
The Stage Manager will be paid $19.00 per hour for all rehearsal and any time outside of performances and $90.00 per one-hour show which will requires arrival 1-hour before show time and departure approximately 1-hour after the end of the show.
