Theatre Aspen, the award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Colorado mountains, is accepting applications for a part-time remote Staff Accountant to join our team.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented accountant and bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be proficient in managing day-to-day transaction processing, including accounts payable and receivable, using QuickBooks Online. With a keen eye for detail, you'll ensure accurate reconciliation of ticket sales from multiple revenue streams and maintain meticulous financial records through regular bank and credit card reconciliations. Your expertise in payroll processing, cash handling, and precise categorization of transactions will be crucial in supporting the Controller with monthly reporting. A strong collaborator, you will work closely with the box office and development teams to ensure seamless recording of financial data during fundraising and ticket sales events.
What you will Do:
•Day-to -Day Transaction Management: Proficient in processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and recording daily transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Payroll: Experience running payroll and reclassifying payroll on a weekly basis.
• Ticket Sales Reconciliation: Experience reconciling ticket sales from PatronManager, ensuring accuracy across multiple revenue streams, including box office, online sales, and credit card transactions.
• Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations: Experience with reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and clearing accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
• Proficiency in QBO and PatronManager: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and familiarity with PatronManager (or similar CRM/ticketing systems).
• Cash Handling: Ability to track, reconcile, and report cash sales from box office transactions, concessions, and donations.
• Detail-Oriented Recordkeeping: Skilled in recording and categorizing transactions in QuickBooks online using classes or projects to ensure proper coding and alignment with the theatre’s financial structure.
• Support for Controller: Prepares accurate transactional data and reconciliations to assist the Controller with monthly financial reporting and budget updates.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Works closely with the box office staff, and development team to ensure financial data from ticket sales, fundraising events, and donations is properly recorded.
• Adaptability in a Fast-Paced Environment: Comfortable managing multiple priorities and responding to the dynamic needs of theatre operations, including irregular schedules during performances or events.
Job type: Part-Time, 20-25 hrs a week average
Job location: Fully Remote
Salary: Annual fee of $45-50,000, commensurate with experience.
