SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in SOME ENCHANTED EVENING: THE SONGS OF RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN (See breakdown).


PREPARATION

Please bring two contrasting songs from the classic American Songbook and prepare a monologue that shows off the variety of your personality. An Accompanist will be provided. Also please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

BREAKDOWN

SOME ENCHANTED EVENING


SYNOPSIS: Some Enchanted Evening is a fun treasure trove of an evening with great humor, filled with famous as well as lesser-known songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein who defined the classic American Musical.

All characters must be extremely musical, move well, and preferably will have some basic dance training.


SEEKING:

Billy: Leading Man, Baritone, 25-45. Charismatic, confident, humorous, strong stage presence. Sings extremely well with commanding musicality.

Will: A “song and dance” man, Tenor, 25-40. (Will Parker, Lt. Cable) Friendly, energetic, capable of comedy and tenderness. Strong Performer in movement and emotional range.

Julie: Young Leading Ingenue, Soprano, 25-40. Playful, endearing, soft but spunky.

Anna: Attractive, mature woman, Mezzo, 35-55. Regal, approachable, warm,

Nellie: Strong, fun, direct (Ado Annie, Nellie Forbush) Mezzo/Belter, 20-40. Appealing, bold personality, vocally comfortable in both classic and modern styles with a big expressive voice.
