BroadwayWorld award-winning off-Broadway composer/lyricist Seth Bisen-Hersh ('Love Quirks') is currently seeking talent for his fall talent showcase cabarets at Midtown Manhattan's renowned cabaret club Don't Tell Mama. Looking for musical theater performers who want more exposure and experience in front of a live audience with a live pianist. Performers sing two songs and do patter in between and receive HD videos of their performances a few hours after the show. Industry guests are encouraged and comped; agents have signed and casting directors have cast talent before. The longest-running showcase series of its kind, Bisen-Hersh has produced, emceed, and accompanied over 700 showcases in the last 15 years featuring over 3,500 singers, dozens who have appeared on Broadway.
Singers bring six people who pay a $20 cover and $20 food/drink minimum. If they don't have six people, performers owe $17 per person under 6: but at zero people, they owe at most $100 which is the cap; one person: $85; two: $68; three: $51; four: $34; five: $17; 6 or more - $0. The cover charges cover all the club, pianist, and videographer fees.
The rehearsals are the days of the show (3:55-6:15 p.m.) with singers in 20-minute slots; weekly shows are Tuesdays at 7PM: October 11th, 18th; November 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th; December 6th, 13th & 20th at Don't Tell Mama, 343 W. 46th St, NYC. Singers usually start on just one night, but are welcome to do as many as they like after that.
