DESCRIPTION

Big League Productions (BLP) seeks both a touring Assistant Carpenter/Flyman and an Assistant Electrician for the upcoming 2026 national tour of MEREDITH WILLSON’S THE MUSIC MAN.

The Assistant Carpenter/Flyman reports to the Head Carpenter, Producers, and the GM. They will also work closely with the Company Manager and Stage Manager while on the road. In conjunction with the Head Carpenter, this position is responsible for advancing with venues, facilitating/managing all load-in’s and load-out’s, ensuring the performances run safely, and managing the local crew in each city/venue.

The Assistant Electrician reports to the Head Electrician, Producers, and the GM. In conjunction with the Head Electrician, this position is responsible for facilitating/managing all lighting aspects of load-in’s and load-out’s, running spot lights during performances, and managing the local lighting IA crew in each city/venue.

TIMELINE:
Load-In Starts (Springfield, MO): December 29, 2025
Tech Starts (Springfield, MO): January 3, 2026
National Tour: January 17 – June 28, 2026
The tour will play a mixture of one-week, split-week and one-night performances, with one (1) layoff week in May 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS:
BLP seeks strong team players, with the ability to work well under pressure.
Previous touring experience, while not mandatory, is preferred.
A valid US driver's license is required
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull 100lbs, stand for extended periods of time (3+ hours), navigate multiple levels of stairs.

COMPENSATION:
This will be contracted under an IATSE “S” Touring Agreement
Salary starts at @ $950/week, increasing with experience
Hotels and per diem provided on the road
IATSE Weekly welfare & pension included
