Seeking submissions for the following roles:
ADULTS
[ DEWEY FINN ] Male-identified character, to play 25-35. A struggling rock singer and guitarist, Dewey is energetic, funny, and a bit immature. He impersonates his friend Ned Schneebly to get a substitute teaching job and eventually transforms the students into a rock band. Rock tenor. MUST PLAY GUITAR.
[ ROSALIE MULLINS ] Female-identified character, to play 25-40. The strict and uptight principal of Horace Green School. Beneath her stern exterior, she loves rock music and has a soft spot for Dewey. Soprano.
[ NED SCHNEEBLY ] Male-identified character, to play 25-35. Dewey's roommate and a former rocker who now works as a substitute teacher. He is controlled by his girlfriend Patty but is generally good-natured and supportive of Dewey. Baritone.
[ PATTY DI MARCO ] Female-identified character, to play 25-35. Ned's domineering girlfriend who disapproves of Dewey's influence on Ned and his rock lifestyle. Mezzo-Soprano.
STUDENTS
[ ZACK MOONEYHAM ] Male-identified character, to play 9-14. Shy and reserved, Zack is the lead guitarist of the band. He gains confidence and discovers his talent through Dewey's guidance. MUST BE PROFICIENT AT GUITAR.
[ KATIE ] Female-identified character, to play 9-14. Quiet and serious, Katie plays the bass guitar. She is a talented musician who becomes more expressive and confident through the band. MUST BE PROFICIENT AT BASS.
[ FREDDY HAMILTON ] Male-identified character, to play 9-14. The rebellious and energetic drummer. Freddy has a lot of spirit and is always ready to rock. MUST BE PROFICIENT AT DRUMS.
[ LAWRENCE ] Male-identified character, to play 9-14. The band's keyboardist. Lawrence is initially insecure about his abilities but finds his place and gains confidence in the band. MUST BE PROFICIENT AT KEYBOARD.
[ TOMIKA ] Female-identified character, to play 9-14. Shy and new to the school, Tomika has an incredible voice. She starts as a backup singer but eventually becomes one of the lead vocalists. LOCAL HIRE.
[ SUMMER HATHAWAY ] Female-identified character, to play 9-14. The overachieving and ambitious student who becomes the band's manager. Summer is organized and determined to help the band succeed. LOCAL HIRE.
[ BILLY ] Male-identified character, to play 9-14. The band's stylist. Billy is fashionable, sassy, and full of personality. He ensures the band looks their best. LOCAL HIRE.
[ SHONELLE & MARCY ] Female-identified characters, to play 9-14. Quieter girls who tend to blend into the background. They are School of Rock's backup singers, and also talented dancers. (Their film counterparts are Alicia and Marta.) LOCAL HIRES.
[ MASON ] Male-identified character, to play 9-14. The tech genius who handles the band's sound and lights. Mason is smart and tech-savvy. LOCAL HIRE.
[ JAMES ] Male-identified character, to play 9-14. The band's security guard. During rehearsals, Dewey has him stand near the door, and if James sees anyone who might blow School of Rock's cover, he has the job of alerting the rest of the band so they can hide the instruments. (His film counterpart is Frankie.) LOCAL HIRE.
[ SOPHIE & MADISON ] Female-identified characters, to play 9-14. The School of Rock's roadies, but, since the band doesn't go on tour, they are essentially backup dancers. Each girl is a talented dancer, and they can often be found together, much like Marcy and Shonelle. (Their film counterparts are Eleni and Michelle.) LOCAL HIRES.
[ THEO, DOUG, BOB & SNAKE ] Male-identified characters, to play 25-35. Members of the band No Vacancy. Must be excellent rock singers. Playing drums, bass or guitar a plus, but not necessary. LOCAL HIRES.
[ ENSEMBLE ] Looking for 8-10 LOCAL HIRES to fill out our ensemble of Teachers, Parents, and various other characters.

Local & Youth Rehearsals will be held from 7 pm - 10 pm each evening and weekends 2 pm - 10 pm (subject to change).
All rehearsals will be in San Antonio, TX.
