Description:

The production company, FIRST WOMAN LLC, is seeking a production manager for a live theatrical production, national tour for our 2024-25 season (3 months). The theatre production manager ensures that production runs smoothly as planned by working as a mediator between the cast, crew, and the executive director. They are responsible for advancing the tour, communicating with venues and presenters about the technical needs of our production, are involved in any purchase needed for the production, organize meetings with all producers involved, and organize rehearsal/meetings among the crew members for effective production.

Dates: December 9, 2024 to March 28, 2025

Job Duties/Requirements:

-Responsible for advancing the tour, communicating with venues and presenters the technical needs of the production

-manage the production’s budget and allocation of resources. Must be able to estimate production costs.

-Coordinating the operations of various production sub-divisions (lighting, scenic, costume design, sound, projection, stage management, etc.)

-Take comprehensive notes regarding the director’s vision and solve technical issues that may arise during the course of production.

-Procurement of staff, production materials, scheduling, operations management, and venue booking.

-Working with the PSM and ASM on coordination of onstage and backstage activity.

-Negotiating contracts with production staff, theatres, and venues.

-Maintaining workplace safety, per OSHA regulations, COVID regulations as set by AEA, or similar standards of theatre/shop safety.

-Must be available (if necessary) to travel to different cities to troubleshoot (January 13, 2025 -- March 21, 2025).

Qualifications

-Self starter and proactive

Must be tech savvy with a deep understanding of theatre tech.

-Experience in the field of theatre production.

-Knowledge of all production disciplines, including understanding of how those disciplines interact during the production process.

-Budgeting and negotiating experience

-Tour coordination experience

-Bookkeeping/billing knowledge

-Comfort with Google/Microsoft platforms for scheduling, communication, organization -Education in Dramatic or Theatre Art/Production is a plus.
