Job Summary:

As a Production Intern at Studio RRD you will work alongside our Production team to support Designers and Warehouse staff in the day-to-day production activity across events, festivals, and fashion shows. This position provides hands-on experience onsite at events as well as office experience: maintaining spreadsheets and databases, updating highly detailed calendars for multiple overlapping events, and supporting the overall advancing of shows. The supervisor for this Internship is the Production Manager.

Internship Goals:
· Develop a strong understanding of event production workflows by supporting Designers and Job Managers through all stages of project execution.

· Build organizational and communication skills by maintaining accurte production documents, calendars and shared digitial resources.

· Gain hands-on experinece in event logistics and labor coordination by assisting with permitting, travel, equipment sourcing, and on-site event support.

· Understand the nuance and differences between the design, client and process needs on a luxury fashion show or beauty event, music festival and large corporate event.

· Other goals as determined by the Intern and their specific desires.

Job Responsibilities:

· Provide on-site support for Designers/Job Managers on any event as assigned.

· Assist in facilitating the flow of information and alignment of activity among departments.

· Assist with the organization and maintenance of the company’s digital assets and databases.

· Maintain organization of company-wide spreadsheets, Dropbox folders, and contact rosters.

· Work with the Production Manager to create and update production calendars and schedules in collaboration with each event’s Job Manager.

· Attend regular Production meetings to record and distribute clear, concise minutes.

· Assist with hiring of Production Electricians and any other overhire labor needs as assigned by the Production Manager.

· Assist with onboarding new-hire production and electrician staff in collaboration with the Production Manager and Business Administrator.

· File for permitting as needed, including but not limited to: laser permitting, explosive and open flame permits, and parking permits.

· Source quotes for heavy equipment and generators, catering vendors, and labor providers under direction of the Production Manager.

· Assist with booking hotels, flights, and rental vehicles for events outside of NYC.

· Provide on-site assistance as needed, including but not limited to getting meal/coffee break, running for last-minute hardware needs, etc.

· Work with the EQ Logistics Lead to provide loading dock information, driver contact info, and other relevant details to ensure a smooth delivery of lighting equipment.

· Learn project management skills throughout all stages of the internship.

· Other duties as assigned

Expected Qualifications:

· 2 - 4 years of educational or professional experience in Production Management/Stage Management, or theatrical, event, or broadcast lighting experience, or an otherwise applicable role.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

· Unflappable, adaptable and ability to maintain positivity in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge of technical concepts, electrician experience, or other lighting-related skills are a plus, not a requirement.

This position is paid hourly, with overtime after 40 hours per week, with a starting rate between $22-$28/hr., depending on experience. This is a limited-duration freelance position, lasting from Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 based on company and candidate schedules. Candidates should expect to work between 10 – 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to work extended hours if desired, in alignment with company needs.
