ABOUT THE SHOW:

Set amongst an antebellum estate undergoing renovations deep within a Gulf Coast Bayou, Hurricane Jimmy is a steamy present-day musical noir, influenced by the Southern Gothic plays of Tennessee Williams and James M. Cain's Double Indemnity. We witness the tragic resurrection of entanglements between the wrong guy and a married femme fatale. Side by side, they know it will be impossible to stop themselves from an adulterous affair that will surely end in disaster. Told in stylistic detail with a deeply energetic score, Hurricane Jimmy begs us to reconcile with our pasts, while confronting our futures. Come witness the wreckage from the storm.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The producing team of Hurricane Jimmy is looking for a strong and eager ensemble of actors to help bring moments in this new musical to life for promotional purposes across a variety of social media platforms.



THE DETAILS:

Each performer will be paid a flat rate of $75 for the project. All work will be done digitally. We anticipate the work to take place over a 2-3 week period beginning in early February.


We are casting for the following roles:


NADYA MONTERISSI (Vocal Type Mezzo/Soprano) mid - late 20s. A former singer with psychological problems.


JIMMY BLALOCK (Vocal Type - Tenor/High Baritone) early 20s. An ex-con on probation for manslaughter.


BENNY MONTERISSI (Vocal Type - Tenor) early 30s. Nadya’s husband living in the shadow of his father.


CARLO MONTERISSI (Vocal Type - Baritone) 60s. A gruff mobbed-up real estate mogul.


DESIREE/ LUANNE WYCOFF (Vocal Type - Alto/Mezzo) 30 - 50. Desiree is Nadya’s concerned caretaker. Luanne is a heavyset bundle of fun construction worker.


STEVE ERSKINE (Vocal Type - Baritone/Tenor) / JERRY (Vocal Type - Non-singing*) 40s. Steve is a construction worker and U.S. Army veteran. Jerry is Benny’s body man and former Special Forces and private security op.
