National Theater Institute Administrative Assistant, Eugene O’Neill Theater Center
The National Theater Institute (NTI) at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center (The O’Neill) is in search of an Administrative Assistant. This full-time position joins NTI as the Artistic Director’s right hand person. They will have an active role in supporting, planning, and executing all NTI programs.

Founded in 1970, the National Theater Institute offers six semester-long undergraduate programs of professional training taught by industry professionals and master teachers as a way to help students springboard into their careers as actors, singers, directors, dancers, designers, playwrights, and composers.
The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center is the country’s preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the stage. From its campus in Waterford, Connecticut, the O’Neill has been home to more than 1,000 new works for the stage and thousands more emerging artists.

The Opportunity
The NTI Administrative Assistant will work directly with the NTI Artistic Director to support the successful planning and execution of NTI programs.
They must be an organized, creative, and efficient team member with a demonstrated background and strong interest in arts management, theater, and/or arts education.
They must demonstrate that they have the ability to critically think and strategically plan to support NTI’s students, faculty, and staff. They also must be able to communicate effectively to not only NTI staff, but also to the remaining O’Neill staff with necessary NTI information.
Among other responsibilities, the NTI Administrative Assistant will:
Experience
Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of relevant professional experience in arts management. Also, they should be proficient with scheduling software (such as Propared), MS Office Suite, and Google workplace. Must exhibit a strong commitment to theater and the arts.
Compensation
The compensation available for the role considers a variety of factors including, but not limited to individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other business needs. The estimated salary for this role is $40,000.
