SEEKING APPLICANTS: NATIONAL PLAYERS TOUR STAGE MANAGER
TO APPLY: Please submit resume and a video telling us about your SM experience and why you’re interested in being a National Player and send to Jenna Duncan, Associate Artistic Director, at email@example.com
National Players is a ten-artist touring ensemble presenting classic stories in fresh ways for contemporary audiences. The company performs a repertory of shows and educates audiences around America. The contract for Tour 72 (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A Raisin in the Sun) runs 11 months, from July 12, 2020 to June 6, 2021 (with a break off-contract from Dec-Jan for the holidays). This individual must be available for the entire contract period.
For 71 years, in classic American touring fashion, company members have performed in all plays and operate all onstage, backstage, and offstage elements. While this remains the case for most technical and administrative positions on Tour 72, the Stage Manager for all three shows would be a dedicated technician who tours with, lives with, drives with, creates with, and educates with the company of actors.
PLEASE NOTE: While this job is a dedicated technician job, the Stage Manager will also understudy the role of Karl Lindner in RAISIN IN THE SUN in case of an emergency. This role is a caucasian male.
The ideal candidate is interested in being a part of an ensemble and an asset to a collaborative team, and is eager to continue to grow as an individual and with the company.
This Stage Manager also functions as Sound Technician during the tour, so they will head up load in and strike of sound as well as mix our body mics. However, this is something we can train you to do during the rehearsal and training period provided you have an eagerness to learn.
