DESCRIPTION

WONDERSTRUCK PLAYERS, an all-virtual Children's Theatre Company, is searching for a MUSIC DIRECTOR for their upcoming summer musical. 

 

WHO WE ARE:

We are an all-virtual children's theatre company based out of Dekalb, IL. 

Our mission- to bring a feeling of wonder and delight, through virtual theatre, into the lives and living rooms of children, their families and surrounding communities. 

Our focus is education and enrichment. We give children the tools they need to improve their theatrical knowledge and training, as well as invite beginners to explore, try new things and develop  a love for theatre. 




TIME COMMITMENT: 

JUNE 1-AUGUST 8, but would like you to be present at a few production meetings leading up to rehearsals starting.

Rehearsals are every TUESDAY & THURSDAY (6-9PM CT), and SUNDAY (3-6PM CT). (Some Saturday's to account for Fathers Day and July 4th.) 

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
-Lead vocal warm-ups using a piano or virtual keyboard. 

-Teach children individual parts using piano, and helping them transition to singing with the instrumental tracks. 

-Break children up into vocal parts. 

-Work with soloists and ensemble. 

-Make recordings to be posted on Google Classroom to help teach harmonies. 

-Work with Stage Manager to mix individual audio tracks in GarageBand or similar platform for all ensemble songs. 



 

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Have a thorough understanding of Zoom and Google Classroom. 

-Good WiFi Connecion and working webcam. 

-Experience with GarageBand. (Preferred, but can also be taught if hired.) 

-Past theatre experience as a Music Director. (preferred to have experience with Virtual Theatre) 

-Likes working with children.

-Fits with the philosophy of Wonderstruck Players.
