MOLLY (Mid 20s to Mid 30s)
A pivotal role in a unique one-man show—featuring two people.
About the show:
Well, Life Sucks is about the life and challenges of a young man with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair and an iPad to communicate and is told with raw honesty, humor, and charm. After winning Best Production at NYC’s United Solo Festival, the show is now being reimagined with eyes on an Off-Broadway run.
About Molly:
A woman imagined by the main character. Molly is playful, real, surprising. She appears in many crucial scenes that bring warmth, humor, and heartbreak to the story.
We’re looking for someone with:
– Empathy and emotional range
– Sharp comedic timing
– The ability to sing and move well (light choreography required)
– A collaborative spirit and willingness to explore big, bold ideas
– Comfort working closely with a disabled actor
Rehearsals start early September
Flexible schedule (nights/weekends possible).
Modest stipend provided, discussed upon interest.
To submit:
Send a short monologue or scene that’s both funny and heartfelt, along with a video of you singing and moving. Dropbox or other link is fine.
