Platypus has a wide-ranging roster of productions including Moulin Rouge and Six, and is looking for a motivated, experienced and passionate individual to join our company as a merchandise manager for Shucked on Broadway.

Merchandise Managers are responsible for the management of daily operations, sales, and promotion of merchandise for the production, coordination of employees, and supervision of worker assignments and performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Managing daily operations, including selling at all performances
• Recruiting, rostering, and maintaining a team of vendors
• Performing administrative duties related to merchandise
• Managing inventory and minimizing stock loss
• Leading and motivating staff to meet goals
• Building strong relationships with local venue, production, and head office teams

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office product
• Excellent organizational, reasoning, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Two (2) years of previous experience in relevant retail management/ supervisor role
• Previous theatre experience preferred
• Ability to positively engage with customers, theatre staff and production crew, and develop strong professional relationships with internal and external partners

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work calmly in high-pressure situations
• Ability to self-manage and operate independently
• Availability to work nights and weekends
• Excellent interpersonal skills
