House Manager | House of McQueen

Form Theatricals is seeking an experienced and highly organized House Manager for our highly anticipated Off-Broadway production, House of McQueen, inspired by the legendary designer Alexander McQueen. More details about the production can be found here: House of McQueen – Vogue Announcement.

Position Overview: The House Manager will play a key role in overseeing all front-of-house operations for House of McQueen at The Manor at Hudson Yards, a newly built 499-seat Off-Broadway theatre created specifically for this production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and schedule a team of 8 ushers at each performance

  • Manage audience flow and seating, and coordinate house opening and curtain times

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all front-of-house matters during performances

  • Address patron issues and accessibility needs promptly and professionally

  • Collaborate with box office staff on seating conflicts, ticketing issues, and special accommodations

  • Maintain communication with the Stage Manager regarding house readiness and performance holds

  • Enforce venue policies on late seating, photography, and patron behavior

  • Implement safety and emergency protocols, including evacuations and medical incidents

  • Prepare detailed performance reports documenting attendance and any incidents

  • Train ushers in customer service, safety procedures, and emergency response

  • Assist with front-of-house support for talkbacks, lobby events, press/VIP nights, and special performances


Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing front-of-house operations in a professional theatre environment

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Calm and professional demeanor under pressure

  • Familiarity with ADA requirements and NYC fire and safety regulations

  • NYC Fire Guard Certification (F-0) is required; production will facilitate and pay for certification if not already held

  • Availability for all performances and required training sessions starting August 19


Salary: $1,000/week

Dates:

  • Previews: August 19 – September 7

  • Press Dates: September 4 – 7

  • Opening Night: September 9

  • Closing: Open-Ended Run

  • Performance Schedule: Tues-Friday at 7, Sat at 2 and 7, Sun at 1 and 5
