DESCRIPTION

Head Electrician/ Lighting Supervisor

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Head Electrician/Lighting Supervisor for our 2022 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between March 28 and November 6, 2022.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented, organized and focused in a fast paced working environment. Experience drafting and executing lighting plots, design/construction of set electrics, and routine equipment maintenance are imperative.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

-Assign line sets, circuits and dimmers, and determine cable paths for each lighting plot

-Recognize and acquire necessary rental equipment

-Pre-production work and planning with other production departments

-Supervision of electrics team

-Schedule and plan weekly work calls

-Repair and maintenance of conventional and automated lighting equipment

-Show documentation and maintenance

-Final Show documentation updated and provided to PM for each show

-Managing and reporting production lighting budget

-Maintaining and organizing Lighting Department inventory and infrastructure

-Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary

-Complete AEA Haze and Smoke paperwork for all shows

Required Skills:

-EOS Family console configuration and programming

-Lightwright 5 and Vectorworks 2015 or newer

-Proficiency in the safe use of ladders, lifts, and fall arrest equipment

-Experience with counterweight rigging systems and spotline rigging

-Network configuration and management (physical networks as well as ETC Net3, sACN, ArtNet, and OSC)

Helpful Skills:

-Projection Design and content editing

- Streaming experience, including working with multiple cameras for live streaming preferred

-Technical skills related to video and projection

-QLab 3

-PRG Mbox

-General understanding of special effects including but not limited to atmospherics and electromechanical effects

-Midi and other forms of show control

$20-22/hr plus O/T and housing included.

Production Electrician (Advance Electrician)

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Production Electrician’s for our 2022 Season. Approximate dates of employment vary per position between April and September 2022. Position is hired on a per show basis. Entire commitment is roughly 3-4 weeks per show.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required.


Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

-Work closely with the Assistant Light Designer and Head Electrician (HE) to technically design, plan, and build show specific elements and effects.

-Support the HE in the planning and execution of the lighting design

-Working alongside Electricians and overhires to hang and focus as needed

-Technical support during rehearsals and tech

-Possible overnight work required

-Pre-production support and Final set electrics paperwork

-Experience with Lightwright 5 & Vectorworks 2015 (or newer)

-Unconventional hours may be required

$22-25/hr plus O/T after 40 hours and housing included.


Electrician/Spot Op

Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks experienced Electrician/Spot Op’s for our 2022 Season and Arts Academy productions. Approximate dates of employment between April 4 and November 6, 2022.

Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required.

Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):

-Startup, Checkout, and Shutdown procedures for each show (8 shows/week)

-Operate spots while maintaining design integrity of each show

-Assist Head Electrician and Asst. Head Electrician with execution of lighting plots

-Participate in weekly work calls

-Repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of conventional and automated lighting equipment

-Assist in rehearsals and load-in/strike as necessary

-Rigging, ladder work, and lift experience required

-Opportunities for work with Arts Academy possible

-Unconventional hours may be required

$15-17/hr plus O/T and housing included.
