Front of House Manager
WP Theater is seeking a Front of House Manager for their Fall Musical Weightless at WP Theater at 2162 Broadway (at 76th Street).
The House Manager shall be a direct report to the Associate General Manager, and will be in charge of staffing the Front of House team for WP’s Fall Main Stage Production. House Manager will serve as the house manager for all performances, oversee and assist in training of a front of house team. (Box Office Manager, Usher, Covid Checker, and Bartender if we have concessions). Responsibilities include: hiring, scheduling, and supervising front of house team, creating daily house manager reports, maintaining safe conditions, resolving patron seating issues, and ensuring a high level of customer service. House Manager will be accountable for the safety of the public and ensuring a comfortable environment for audiences. An ideal applicant should have prior front of house experience. Prior experience as a house manager is a plus but not required. House Manager must be a certified F-03 FDNY fire guard or be prepared to become one. WP shall support and pay for F-03 certification should applicant not have a current certificate.
Compensation: House Manager shall be paid $23 with a guaranteed minimum of $700 per week. Overtime eligible after forty hours per week per New York State Law. A typical work week during performances is likely 21-25 hours.
Schedule: Performances will run September 17th through October 16th (with two possible extension weeks), Tuesday through Sunday. The typical performance schedule is:
Sa: 2pm, 8pm
Additionally, House Manager shall be hired in August and paid hourly to interview, hire and assist in training a front of house team.
Covid-19 Protocols: All employees must be up to date vaccinated per CDC guidelines. KN-95 or similar masks must be worn at all times. WP shall provide masks to all employees. All patrons attending performances must be fully vaccinated and masked at all times. WP provides regular testing to all employees according to current transmission levels.
