DESCRIPTION

Seeking a French-speaking teacher for French-Immersion Preschool Enrichment Classes (ages 18 to 36 months) on Wednesday mornings for Fall 2024-Spring 2025 school year. Candidate must be warm, patient, open to learning new curriculum, and preferably will have experience leading classes with children 3 and under. Position will teach one 45-minute class per week.

Qualifications
• Must pass full background check
• BA in Early Childhood Education or related field of study preferred but not required
• Must be fluent in French
• Minimum 2 years experience working with preschool-aged students in an educational setting preferred
• Seeking candidates who are excited about and qualified to promote bilingualism, language immersion, and acquisition
• High energy, motivation, patience, and other skills needed to work with children

Responsibilities
• French Immersion teacher is responsible for implementing weekly lesson planning, executing positive classroom management, and ensuring a safe environment
• Teacher will foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development as aligned with Playgarden's curriculum (which aligns with NYS Early Education standards) in French
• Supervising children at all time and ensuring the safety of all students
• Building a caring and positive rapport with students
• Assessing students formally and informally to reflect the progression of their skills
• Communicating with school staff, parents, and guardians in-person and via email
• Making sure proper procedures are followed for drop-off and pick-up of children
• Reporting all incidents to the Supervisor, filling out proper health logs and/or accident/incident forms
• Cleaning and setting up before/after each class
• Other duties as assigned by the Education Director or Site Director

Rate of pay will be based on both experience and shift-length.
