BREAKDOWN

FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT

SYNOPSIS: Wynona is a Native American activist, who becomes embroiled in a heated rivalry with River, a white woman running a nonprofit for Native American causes. As their feud escalates, Wynona's partner, Theo, poses as a Native American to infiltrate and sabotage River’s organization from within. As their schemes and deceptions spiral out of control, the characters navigate a chaotic mix of activism, identity, and office politics, leading to a series of humorous and unexpected confrontations.

Casting Note: All roles require physical comedy ability. Sketch and improv experience is a plus!

Actors based outside of the US must have a work visa or green card.

SEEKING:

[WYNONA] Female 25 - 45 years, Native American woman who strongly identifies with her culture and enrolled tribe, is passionate about her way of life and is deeply committed to environmental activism, particularly eradicating the invasive Butterfly Bush. Confident and sometimes stubborn, she is driven by a strong desire to be heard and respected, though her intensity often leads to conflicts. Despite her fiery nature, Wynona cares deeply for her partner, Theo, and navigates the challenges of their relationship alongside her activism.

[RIVER] Female 35 - 50 years, A stylish white woman who runs a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Native American causes. She is confident and skilled at making herself both commanding and nonthreatening, traits that have always ensured she is listened to and respected. While genuinely committed to her work, River's methods and motivations are sometimes questionable, leading to a complex and often contentious relationship with those around her, particularly Wynona.

[KRYS] Non-binary, 20 - 30 years, A young, gender-fluid Native American person. They've seen more in their years than most people do in a lifetime, making them both wise and deeply committed to advocating for Two Spirit visibility within the Native American community. Krys is fiercely independent, with a blend of traditional Native American ceremonial values and a modern, eclectic style, making them a strong, adaptable, and sometimes unpredictable force in the world of activism.

[GRACE] Female 35 - 50 years, Native American woman who carries an activist martyr vibe, often taking on too much and making sure everyone knows it. She’s not from money and has struggled to be taken seriously, which has left her with a bit of a chip on her shoulder, though she is beginning to blossom into her own moment of empowerment. Grace is passionate about race shifting, navigating her identity with a quiet intensity, and is determined to make a difference, even if it means challenging the norms of both her community and herself.

[THEO] Male 30 - 45 years, A white man in his 30s who is deeply in love with Wynona and fully committed to supporting her activism. As a biologist and environmental activist, he admires eco-terrorists but lacks the courage to take such extreme measures, preferring to play a more supportive and level-headed role. Theo is calm, devoted, and willing to go to great lengths for Wynona, even if it means crossing ethical lines, as he grapples with his desire to belong in her world.

[MARK] Male 30 - 40 years, Native American man, confident and sincere, who identifies as Two Spirit. He is a genuinely goodhearted person, grounded in his identity and culture, with an attractive presence that draws others to him. Mark values honesty and integrity, and while he may appear calm and composed, he is deeply committed to his community and the people he cares about.
