DESCRIPTION

Children's Shakespeare Theatre is seeking a young person to play Haemon. Haemon is the son of King Creon and Antigone's fiance. He is sweet, sincere and steadfast. This is a great opportunity to play a principled character in an important drama. There are three important scenes and no long speeches for Haemon.

The Anouihl Antigone that we at Children's Shakespeare Theatre are presenting is the 1944 Paris version of the BC 441 Sophocles' Greek classic. In this production, leads are mostly played by high schoolers while smaller parts are played by younger grades. Rehearsals have just begun and will be weekday evenings with one Saturday. Some conflicts are no trouble until tech week (10/2-10/5), when we want all hands on deck. Rehearsals are mostly in Palisades, NY.
Performances will be October 6, 7, 8, 9, 13 & 14th. The Friday & Saturday performances will be at 7pm in Palisades, NY. The Sunday and Monday performances will be at 11am at Marydell, part of the Phoenix Nyack Arts Festival.
