Seeking a Concert Director to direct three (3) original, virtual, educational concerts in Bridge Arts Ensemble’s 2020-2021 Season. The Concert Director will work in collaboration with the Artistic Director to transition these live experiences to exciting digital concerts that combine the magic of live performance with the excitement of multimedia.
Bridge Arts Ensemble (BAE) is a Teaching Artist organization that brings interactive concerts and workshops to over 60 school districts in upstate New York, and impacts 65,000+ students annually. Each year BAE creates three age appropriate concerts for grades kindergarten through twelfth. During the 2020-2021 school year, BAE will present these concerts and workshops on a digital platform.
The Concert Director will report to the Artistic Director and Media Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
In collaboration with the Bridge Arts Ensemble artistic team, help to conceptualize the transition of live performance programs to a digital medium.
Direct educational concerts for an interactive, digital platform to be performed for grades K-12.
Work with Unreel Films media company to coordinate and facilitate all filming and audio recording dates with Bridge Arts Ensemble artists
Oversee all video digital editing and post-production work
Be available for meetings with Bridge Arts Ensemble Management and Executive Producers.
Be able to direct vocalists and instrumentalists in educational concerts.
Must have a collaborative spirit and clear artistic vision
Must work well under pressure.
Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must demonstrate responsible, ethical and professional behavior.
Must have theater and television (and/or film) experience.
Must have experience working in children's theater.
