Playdate, the first-ever online theatre company, is searching for directors and virtual designers to join their production team for their 2nd online festival fundraiser.
This past summer, Playdate gathered Hollywood and Broadway stars to produce six original screen-plays raising $16,000 for Color Of Change and YWCA’s COVID 19 Relief Fund.
Now, they are doing it again! In mid-October, 200 writers from all over the world were given a set of characters and story concepts and were tasked to bring their conversations, conflicts, humor, and drama to the screen. Each screen-play, a play written specifically to be performed virtually, has the opportunity to be chosen for production with leading industry members.
Playdate is currently narrowing down which screen-plays to move forward with and is on the hunt for directors and virtual designers to help bring them to the next level.
Playdate is looking for people who primarily work as Stage/Theater directors. If you are familiar with Film/TV directing that is great, but not a requirement.
The Virtual Designer is responsible for creating the mise en scene of the screen-plays. They will work with the director as an editor, designer, animator, and more to bring the screen-play to life.
While this is mainly a volunteer opportunity, there will be a $150 honorarium.
The dates are still in flux.
