Job Details

The Strides Collective, a Philadelphia-area theatre company that produces and develops work by emerging queer artists, is seeking applicants for various roles, including an Artistic Associate, New Play Development Coordinator, and Marketing and Social Media Manager.

ABOUT US: Founded in 2020, The Strides Collective produces works of theatre by queer artists, about queer stories, and for all audiences with the goal of normalizing the conversation about queer identity, creating a safe haven for emerging artists to tell their stories and giving them the ability to express themselves freely without fear of judgment.

Our inaugural season took place online, where our first digital production, Ignite, reached over 200 viewers in 8 countries. Our second production, The Diamond Peak Studio Sessions, featured artists and collaborators from 4 states and was heard by audience members in over 20 states and 2 countries. Throughout the year, we simultaneously produced two rounds of our Emerging Playwrights Program, providing time, resources, and dramaturgical support for six queer playwrights.

As we head into 2022, we are eager to continue our mission of supporting emerging queer artists by producing a full, in-person production and continuing to build our Emerging Playwrights Program.

OPPORTUNITY: The Strides Collective is currently composed of 12 volunteer Collective Members who perform administrative and artistic duties for the company. We are looking for new individuals to join us as Collective Members for the upcoming 2022 Season, committing to approximately 2-4 hours of work per week. While meetings are conducted remotely, we highly encourage applicants who reside in the Greater Philadelphia Area to apply.

Transparency is one of our core values; as such, we want to state upfront that all Collective members are currently volunteers.  We deeply value our members' time and passion; as a Collective, we all assist each other to create a safe and healthy working environment.  We recognize that the requirements of this opportunity may not be a fit for everyone. Our hope is to provide at least a $100 stipend before the end of 2022, and as we continue to grow, we look to create more stable financial compensation. If you have any questions, please email us at

The Strides Collective provides equal opportunities to all applicants without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sex, disability, religion, national origin, age, veteran status, or any other characteristic.  Applicants from historically underrepresented groups in the theatre industry are strongly encouraged to apply.
